1. China's first offshore million-tonne carbon storage project was put into operation on Thursday in the South China Sea, said the China National Offshore Oil Corporation. The project is designed to store more than 1.5 million tonnes of carbon dioxide in total, according to the company.
2. The first China-Europe freight train for transporting the materials for a China-built photovoltaic power station in Uzbekistan departed Wed from E China's Yiwu. The project is expected to provide electricity to 495,000 households and cut CO2 emissions by 445,000 tonnes annually.

On May 31, Russia’s State Duma has ratified an agreement between the governments of the Russian Federation and China on cooperation in the field of natural gas supplies from Russia to China via the Far East route. The agreement was signed in Moscow and Beijing on January 31, 2023. After the project reaches its full capacity, the volume of Russian pipeline gas supplies to China will increase by 10 billion cubic meters and in total will reach 48 billion cubic meters per year.
6. According to pv magaine, Deye’s new three-phase hybrid inverters have efficiency ratings of up to 97.60% and European efficiency ratings of 97.0%. They are available in five versions, with power outputs ranging from 29.9 kW to 50 kW.
7. On May 31, the first phase of the photovoltaic manufacturing industry chain project with the largest single investment in Qinghai Province started. The project has a total investment of RMB35 billion and will be constructed in three phases. It is estimated that the annual output value will exceed 100 billion yuan after reaching full capacity, which will drive employment for nearly 10,000 people.
8. According to a statement by Bp China, the firm signed a joint venture agreement with Zhejiang Energy Gas to establish a company to supply and sell LNG via trucks. BP China said this is the third marketing and sales venture in China for trucked LNG.
9. On May 30, Huaneng Hydropower was approved to construct the hydropower station in Tibet. The installed capacity of the project is 2.6 million kilowatts, the average annual power generation is 11.281 billion kwh, and the total project investment is 58.381 billion yuan.
