1. China on Wed started hoisting the world's largest single-unit capacity offshore wind turbine in Shantou, S China's Guangdong. The 18-MW turbine can generate 72 mln kWh of green power a year to meet the annual needs of 36,000 households and help cut CO2 emissions by 59,000 tons.

3. Recently, Professor Marnix Wagemaker's team at Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands collaborated with the Institute of Nuclear Physics, China Institute of Atomic Energy, China National Nuclear Corporation to publish their latest research results on lithium-ion batteries in Nature. This research is expected to significantly enhance the cycle life and fast-charging performance of lithium batteries.
4. The verdict of US-based Maxeon Solar's application for a temporary injunction against China's AIKO Solar was released by The Hague District Court in the Netherlands on Thursday. The court determined that AIKO Solar's ABC products did not infringe Maxeon's EP2297788B1 patent and rejected the application for a temporary injunction.
5. The latest data from China's National Bureau of Statistics shows that in April, China's industrial power generation from large-scale enterprises reached 690.1 billion kWh, up 3.1% YoY. From Jan. to Apr., industrial power generation from these enterprises totaled 2932.9 billion kWh, representing a YoY increase of 6.1%. In April, the growth rates of China's industrial thermal power, hydropower, and solar power from large-scale enterprises accelerated, while nuclear power rebounded from a decrease. However, wind power saw a YoY decrease.
6. In April, China's industrial natural gas production above the designated size reached 19.8 billion cubic meters, up 3.2% YoY. The average daily output was 660 million cubic meters, and the imported natural gas totaled 10.3 million tons, reflecting a 15.1% increase YoY. From Jan. to Apr., the industrial natural gas output above the designated size was 83 billion cubic meters, showing a 5.0% YoY increase, while the imported natural gas amounted to 43 million tons, a 20.7% increase from the previous year.
7. In April, industrial enterprises in China produced 17.47 million tons of crude oil, a 1.3% increase compared to the previous year. The average daily output was 582,000 tons, and the imported crude oil amounted to 44.72 million tons, showing a 5.9% YoY increase. From Jan. to Apr., the industrial crude oil production in China reached 70.95 million tons, marking a 2.1% YoY increase. Additionally, the imported crude oil during this period was 182.07 million tons, up 2.0% YoY.
8. Turkey is in advanced discussions with Chinese electric car makers BYD and Chery Automobile for factory investments in the country, Industry Minister Fatih Kacir said in an interview to Bloomberg News on Friday. The development comes as the European Commission is investigating whether fully-electric cars manufactured in China were receiving distortive subsidies and warranted extra tariffs.

Tesla is pushing ahead with plans to power the global development of its self-driving system with data from China that could be processed within the country, part of a strategic shift by Elon Musk, according to Reuters citing people with knowledge of the work. As part of that effort, Tesla has been developing plans for a data center in China to train the algorithm needed for more fully autonomous vehicles.
10. Volkswagen China Technology Company, Volkswagen Group's largest R&D center outside Germany, held a groundbreaking ceremony for phase III of the R&D center and unveiled the City Test Track on Thursday in Hefei, capital of east China's Anhui Province.
