1. The world's 1st 5-MW offshore high-temp flue gas waste heat power generation unit was delivered in N China's Tianjin. The unit to be installed on offshore oil & gas platforms can yield 40 mln kWh of power a year by recycling 500℃ flue gas produced from platforms' power stations.
2. China accounts for more than half of the world's pipeline of new coal mines, risking a significant increase in methane emissions, a new study published on Tuesday showed. China is developing enough new mines to produce 1.28 billion metric tons of coal each year, said the report by U.S.-based Global Energy Monitor which included large mines with at least 1 million tons of annual capacity as of April.
3. Chinese auto giant Chery has plugged into Nio's charging network, marking the 13th company to do so. On Sep. 10, Wuhan Nio Energy Co Ltd signed a charging service cooperation agreement with Anhui Chery Green Energy Ecological Technology Co Ltd, Nio announced today. Nio Power's charging network is open to brands including Chery, Exceed and Jetour to provide extensive, efficient and convenient charging services, a brief statement from Nio said.

5. The first hydrogen-powered autonomous rapid transit vehicle for Malaysia in mass production rolled off the assembly line Monday in southwest China's Yibin, ready for service in Kuching. A total of 38 such trains will be deployed, of which 17 will be put into operation by end-2025.
6. China's total imports and exports of goods expanded 6% YoY to 28.58 trillion yuan (about $4.01 trillion) in the first eight months of 2024, data from the General Administration of Customs showed Tuesday.
7. CATL, the world's largest power battery maker, is looking to acquire a photovoltaic module and photovoltaic cell company, and is currently in talks to acquire DAS Solar, local media outlet LatePost reported recently. DAS Solar was founded in 2018 and ranked No. 8 globally in PV module shipments in the first half of this year, the report noted.
8. On September 8, the LNG vessel CESI BEIHAI arrived at Sinopec's Huaying LNG Terminal in China, carrying 72,000 tonnes of LNG from Australia. This marks the opening of Sinopec's first LNG terminal in Guangdong Province. The terminal's Phase I has an annual capacity of 6 million tonnes, expected to reach 12 million tonnes with Phase II. Bonded LNG storage tanks now support Sinopec's global LNG trading and refueling.
9. A primary school in Jinhua, east China's Zhejiang will achieve energy sufficiency once its new 3,880-sqm rooftop solar project goes operational. The solar installation can generate about 4,000 kWh of electricity per day, fully meeting the school's daily energy needs.
10. BYD launched two models of its electric MPV M6 in Thailand: THB829,900 (USD24,500) and THB929,900 (USD27,470). The Chinese carmaker has sold over 50,000 NEVs in Thailand through 117 sales outlets.
